Springtime Haze

By Mia Wells

Did you really love me?
In our forgotten spring
Am I a heartfelt memory?
Or whisper lost in the wind?
The pale pink petals that fell
And danced among the clouds
A secret love, no kiss and tell
I was lost and you were found
We were like fire while it lasted
Burning embers in the sand
Ignoring shadows that we casted
But now I understand
We burned like all flames do
Yet slowly turned to ash
You were sun, but I was moon
The star you could not catch
Love like ours was not meant to be
By summer it was gone
I’ll save it all, my spring movie
When we were forever young
A broken heart may never mend
And I wish I knew what I do now
That our whirlwind love would end

When the last Cherry Blossom fell to the ground.
